Follow electoral code of conduct, EC urges ministers, MPs

The Election Commission urged the ministers, lawmakers and other government officials concerned not to violate the electoral code of conduct ahead of the country’s maiden partisan municipality polls, said its official today.

Talking to reporters at EC Secretariat this afternoon, Election Commissioner M Shah Newaz, also urged Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to look into the issue.

The returning officers were also directed to take necessary actions if someone violates the electoral code of conducts.

The municipality polls are scheduled to be held on December 30.
