Savar cotton mill fire doused

Fire that broke out at a cotton factory in Ashulia of Savar this morning was doused after one and a half an hour.

No injury was reported in the fire that originated at SM Shawkat Cotton Mill around 10:30am, our Savar correspondent said quoting Abdul Hamid, senior station officer of DEPZ Fire Service and Civil Defence.

Three firefighting units from Dhaka Export Processing Zone (DEPZ) put out the blaze around 12:00pm.

The cause of the fire could not be known immediately, the Fire Service and Civil Defence officer said.
