Drone seized at Dhaka airport
Custom intelligence today seized a drone at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka due to a ban on its import.
On information, officials of custom intelligence scanned a parcel consisting of two packets weighing four kilogrammes, and recovered the drone, said Moinul Khan, director general of customs intelligence.
The parcel, branded as toys, was ordered to one Saif Ali Khan of Mohammadpur in Dhaka and reached Dhaka in flight SQ446 from Singapore yesterday, Khan said.
The airport authorities seized it for its potential “danger” to the airport security. After being identified, the importer will be interrogated in this regard, the custom intelligence official said.
Connecting bombs with the drone can cause any subversive incident. It can be misused for collecting photos and information on sensational and important establishments, he also said.
Saying that importing and using policy of drone is still underway, Khan added that a legal action will be taken against the import.
