Charge framing hearing in Rajon killing case starts Sep 22
A Sylhet court today fixed September 22 for starting charge framing hearing in the 13-year-old boy Rajon killing case.
Judge Akbar Hossain Mridha of Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Court set the date, our Moulvibazar correspondent reports quoting victim's father Azizur Rahman.
On September 7, Judge Shahedul Karim of Metropolitan Magistrate's Court-1 sent the case to the Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Court.
Investigation officer Suranjit Talukdar of Detective Branch of police submitted charge sheet to the court of Shahedul Karim on August 16, accusing 13 people and showing 38 people as witnesses.
The accused are Quamrul Islam, Muhit Alam, 32, Shamim Alam, 20, Pavel Islam, 18, Ali Haider alias Ali, 34, Moyna Mia, 45, Nur Ahmed alias Nuru Mia, 20, Dulal Ahmed, 30, Ayaz Ali, 45, Taj Uddin Badal, 28, Firoz Mia, 50, Asmat Ali, 42, and Ruhul Amin, 25.
Police showed three of the accused - Kamrul Islam, Shamim and Pavel - as fugitive while ten others are now in custody.
On July 8, Rajon was beaten to death by Kamrul and several others in Kumargaon Bus Stand area of Sylhet Sadar upazila.
The perpetrators claimed that Rajon was trying to steal a rickshaw van.
One of culprits filmed the brutal torture on Rajon on a mobile and shared it in the social media.
Kamrul fled to Saudi Arabia after the incident. There he was held by Bangladeshis who handed him over to Saudi police.
