Diaz’s mother admitted to hospital
Mother of slain BCL leader Diaz Irfan Chowdhury has been admitted to a hospital in Chittagong as she became sick due to her hunger strike.
Jehada Amin Chowdhury began the hunger strike on Chittagong University on November 27 demanding immediate arrest and suspension of the alleged killers.

Diaz’s elder sister Jobaida Sarwar Nipa told or Chittagong correspondent, “My mother is not taking food for last six days as she vowed to continue her hunger strike until the alleged killers of my brother are arrested".
“We admitted her to a private hospital when her condition deteriorated,” she said adding that they tried their best to feed her food but failed.
Meanwhile, CU Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Shireen Akhter visited the hospital to console Jaheda and tried to manage her for breaking the hunger strike but failed.

After not being able to feed her food, doctors gave her saline and injections, reports our correspondent.
The body of Diaz, who was the assistant secretary of the central committee of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), was found hanging at his home near Gate No-2 of CU on November 20 last year. His family members were not at home at the time.
A second autopsy on the body concluded that he was strangled to death. The case is being investigated by the Criminal Investigation Department.
