Hussaini Dalan blast: 5 JMB men remanded
A Dhaka court today placed five members of the militant outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) on a five-day remand over the bomb attack on Shia Muslim community headquarters, Hussaini Dalan, in Dhaka.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Younus Khan passed the order after the Detective Branch(DB) police produced them before the court with a 10-day remand for each.
The accused are Md Chan Mia, 32, Md Omar Faruque alias Manik, 28, Hafez Ahsanullah Mahmud, 29, Md Shahjalal, 38, and Md Kabir Hossain alias Rashed.
Police arrested the militantsfrom different places in the capital yesterday.
The primary investigation revealed that they were involved in the attack on Hussaini Dalan.
“They need to be remanded in order to find and arrest the principle planner, financer, trainer, training centre and other related fugitives,” Ansari said in his remand prayer.
The arrestees are the followers of JMB operational commander Shahdat Mahfuz Al Bani, who was killed in a “gunfight” with detectives in Gabtoli last night, said Dhaka Metropolitan Police Joint Commissioner Monirul Islam in a press conference at DMP media centre.
“This group has recently tried to draw the attention of different international militant organisations and also had plans to conduct further subversive activities in future,” he added.
