2 ‘cattle lifters’ beaten dead in Pabna
A mob beat two suspected cattle lifters to death and injured another in Ataikula of Pabna early today.
The deceased could not be identified immediately, reports our Pabna correspondent.
Nur-e Alam, officer-in-charge of Ataikula Police Station, said a group of thieves entered in Saradangi Kaziapara village around 4:00am for lifting cattle.
Sensing their presence, locals chased the thieves and caught three of them while the rest managed to flee, the OC said.
The agitated mob gave them a good thrashing, leaving two of them dead on the spot while another injured, the police official further said.
On information, police recovered the bodies and sent those to Pabna General Hospital morgue for autopsy, he added.
The injured thief, Yearul, 35, hailed from Shingra upazila in Natore, was rushed to the hospital under police custody.
