PM rebukes ‘suited’ ministers

In view of the government discouraging the attire of wearing suits and coats in summer, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today criticised the cabinet ministers for disregarding the order.

“Is it our dress?” she told cabinet ministers during today’s cabinet meeting. “This is the dress of the British.” She snapped saying that they still bore the attitude of serving the British.

She rebuked those ministers who attended the meeting wearing suits.

The government had earlier issued a directive for its officials for not wearing suits and coats during summer for cutting down electricity wastage.

The directive is applicable during March to November.
