Mother, son 'killed' in Kakrail
A woman and her son were killed at their residence in the capital’s Kakrail area today.
The decades are identified as Shamshun Nahar Karim, 46, and her son Shaown, 17, an ‘A level’ student of a school, said Dhaka Metropolitan Police Station Joint Commissioner Krishna Pada Roy.
Police recovered the bodies of the mother and the son with injury marks of sharp weapons from a floor of their sixth storey building around 6:30pm.
Police however, could not say anything about the motive of the double murder immediately.
Rashida Begum, a domestic help, told The Daily Star that someone suddenly locked the kitchen door from outside when she was cleaning there.
Few moments later, she heard screeches coming out from one of the rooms of that apartment, she said adding, “I shouted and knock asking to open the door but no one responded.”
Moments later, she was finally able to open the door and saw two dead bodies lying on the floor, she said.
Krishna Pada Roy further added that they have picked up some people to interrogate them following the incident.
