DMP bans carrying explosives, crackers ahead of Shab-e-Barat

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has banned the carrying of all types of explosives, crackers and explosion of firecrackers in the city ahead of Shab-e-Barat to be observed on May 22.
The ban was clamped under Section 28 of the DMP Ordinance III/1976, aiming to maintain the sanctity of Shab-e-Barat.
The restriction will remain in force from 6:00 pm on May 22 until further order, according to a media release signed by DMP Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia on Saturday afternoon.
