Dhaka south sets Tk 420 beef price for Ramadan
Dhaka South City Corporation (DSSC) today fixed the beef price per kg at Tk 420 and mutton Tk 570 for the upcoming holy month of Ramadan.
The price of buffalo meat per kg was fixed at Tk 400 and the price of sheep at Tk 470.
The mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation, Sayeed Khokon, in a meeting with the leaders of different businessmen at Nagar Bhaban in the capital fixed the meat pricing.
Mobile courts of DSCC will be on guard during Ramadan to curb food adulteration in the south city, Sayeed Khokon told the businessmen.
The city corporation will take action if find any adulteration or pesticides in the foods and fruits, Mayor Sayeed warned. The owners of the shopkeepers will have to keep a digital chart containing a list of the food prices fixed by the DSCC authorities.
He added, “DSCC authorities are working to build up two butchery places where at least 4000 cows, goats and other animals can be slaughtered safely. He replied this while the owners of butcher shops demanded more butchery places in the city.
The owners of different restaurants and bakeries were present in the meeting.
