Bus runs over hawker in Dhaka

A newspaper hawker was run over by a bus in Tikatuli area of Dhaka this morning.

Aynal Haque, 35, a resident of Nakhalpara in Tejgaon area, was on his bicycle when a local bus hit him from behind in front of Ittefaq more around 9:30am, said Sub-inspector Bacchu Mia, in-charge of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) Police Outpost.

He was rushed to the DMCH in critical condition where he succumbed around 10:00am, the SI said.

Police seized the vehicle while the driver managed to flee the scene, he added.
