Advance bus ticket sale begins

Private bus operators have started selling advance tickets for home-goers ahead of the Eid-ul-Azha.

Advance bus tickets for the period beginning from September 16 till September 24 were made available from 7:00am, leaders of Bangladesh Bus-Truck Owners' Association told The Daily Star.  

Reputed bus companies began selling tickets in most of their counters.

Meanwhile, the state-run Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) will start selling advance Eid tickets from September 16.

Tickets will be sold from Kamalapur, Kallyanpur, Gabtoli, Joarshahara and Mirpur bus depots, according to BRTC Chairman Mizanur Rahman.

Earlier, Bangladesh Railway authorities announced that it will begin selling advance train tickets from September 15 to ensure hassle-free journey for home goers.

The sale will continue till September 19 at Kamalapur in Dhaka and Chittagong railway stations, Railways Minister Mujibul Haque said on September 3.
