1 killed in Old Dhaka wall collapse, 2 hurt

A person was killed two others were injured after a wall collapsed on them in Old Dhaka’s Bongshal area today.

The deceased was identified as Md Rafik, 36, while the injured are Alamgir and Sohel - all labourers working under the Dhaka South City Corporation, said Bongshal Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abdul Kuddus Fakir.

The trio was repairing a drain in Mahuttuli area on Abul Hasnat road when a seven feet high wall collapsed on them around 2:30pm, the OC added.

Rafik died on the spot, OC Abdul Kuddus said.

The injured were rushed to Mitford Hospital. The dead body was sent to the hospital morgue for autopsy, the OC informed.
