Chasing Perfection
If we shifted continents and pitched the idea of using fairness creams to improve our chances in a job interview, things wouldn't turn out so bright to say the least. But then again, is it any different from using chocolate deo to attract hoards of scantily-clad women? What often comes off as a pressing problem might actually be spoon-fed insecurity dealt to us from birth. Then again, ads don't necessarily have to deal with insecurity. It all boils down to awareness, whether you want to be aware of insecurities or actual problems. Like how Chipotle brought up the issue of factory farming in their award-winning ad/short-film “The Scarecrow.” Unfortunately for us, we haven't been able to move past the cheap shots at consumers by the copywriters.
