Primary school shutdown programme suspended for exams
The Prathomik Shikkhok Dabi Bastobayon Parishad and Songothon Oikya Parishad suspended their ongoing complete shutdown in government primary schools across the country.
In a press release issued on Thursday night, they took into account the welfare of students while continuing their movement for three-point demands.
The suspension will take effect from December 7, 2025, when third-term annual assessments begin in all government primary schools.
Leaders of the organisations said the decision was taken out of "morality, humanity and respect for our children-like students." They added that the shutdown would remain suspended until examinations are completed.
They said further action plans would be announced after discussions between the councils.
