Bangladesh’s International Culinary Institute signs deal with UK’s World Master Chefs Society

The International Culinary Institute (ICI), Bangladesh, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the World Master Chefs Society (WMC), UK, in a move set to elevate Bangladesh's culinary education and global chef development.
The agreement, signed at the Six Seasons Hotel in Dhaka, establishes long-term collaboration in culinary training, professional certification, and global exchange programs.
The signing ceremony was attended by Master Chef Daniel John Ayton, Senior Vice President of the WMC, UK, and Master Chef Daniel C. Gomes, Corporate Executive Chef of ICI and Chairman of the WMC Bangladesh Chapter.
Under the partnership, Bangladeshi chefs and culinary students will gain access to international standards of training, professional accreditation, and opportunities to participate in global chef exchange programs. The initiative is expected to enhance the international competitiveness of Bangladesh's culinary sector.
"This collaboration is a bridge between global culinary traditions and emerging talent from Bangladesh," said Master Chef Daniel Ayton. "Together, we aim to create pathways for young chefs to achieve international excellence."
Master Chef Daniel Gomes added that the MoU represents a "major step forward in aligning Bangladesh's culinary education with global standards and opportunities."
A.N.M. Shahjahan, Project Coordinator of the Skills for Employment Investment Program (SEIP), said the partnership would help Bangladeshi youth acquire globally recognized skills, boosting employment prospects and international mobility.
The collaboration marks a key milestone in strengthening Bangladesh's growing presence in the global culinary landscape and fostering world-class talent capable of competing on the international stage.
