Pubali Bank donates student buses to SUST

Pubali Bank PLC recently donated two buses to the Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) to improve transportation services for students as part of its continued commitment to supporting educational institutions and empowering the younger generation.

The bank also opened an e-banking booth named the “SUST Electronic Banking Booth” on the university campus during the programme, according to a press release.

Prof AM Sarwaruddin Chowdhury, vice-chancellor of SUST, attended the event as the chief guest and received the keys from Mohammad Ali, managing director and CEO of the bank.

Speaking on the occasion, Ali said, “Pubali Bank PLC remains committed not only to providing world-class banking services but also to contributing to the development of education and human resources in the country.”

“The introduction of modern banking facilities and the donation of two buses for SUST students are part of our broader commitment to social responsibility,” he said. “We will continue to stand beside educational institutions through meaningful and sustainable initiatives in the future as well,” he added.

Rumana Sharif and Rana Laila Hafiz, directors of the bank, joined the event as guests of honour and appreciated Pubali Bank PLC’s initiative to expand modern banking facilities within educational institutions and support students through improved transportation services.

Prof AFM Zakaria, transport administrator of the university, presided over the programme.

Prof Md Shajedul Karim, pro-vice chancellor of SUST; Prof Md Ismail Hossain, treasurer; Sayed Salim Md Abdul Quadir, registrar; and Chowdhury Md Shofiul Hassan, general manager of Pubali Bank’s Sylhet Principal Office, along with teachers, students, university officials, and senior executives of the bank, were also present at the ceremony.
