Inflation eases in February

Inflation in Bangladesh eased in February for the third consecutive month, declining to 9.32 percent from 9.94 percent in January, according to the latest data from the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS).
The drop was mainly driven by a reduction in food inflation, which stood at 9.24 percent in February, down from 10.72 percent in the previous month.
However, non-food inflation, which measures the cost of goods and services outside of food, showed an upward trend.
It increased to 9.38 percent in February, compared to 9.32 percent in January, indicating that essential commodities and services continue to put pressure on household budgets.
