Bangladesh's private sector's medium and long-term debt from foreign countries stood at $8.09 billion at the end of September 2022.

The sector had the highest volume of loans from China at $2.28 billion, Bangladesh Bank data showed.

Hong Kong came second with loans of $1.26 billion and the United Kingdom was placed third with loans of $0.85 billion.
