Chinese firm to invest $10.73 million in Bepza economic zone
Join Win (Bangladesh) Company Ltd, a Chinese factory, plans to invest $10.73 million to set up a shoe accessories manufacturing industry in Bepza Economic Zone.
The company will set up a 'fully modern automated factory' to annually produce seven million pairs of different shoe accessory items, such as polyurethane (PU) insole, PU midsole, PU outsole and rubber outsole insole.
The items will be produced for different global brands, including Nike, Adidas, Puma and Caterpillar, according to the officials of Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (Bepza). The factory will create employment opportunities for 900 Bangladeshi nationals, according to Bepza.
Ali Reza Mazid, member for investment promotion at Bepza, and Xu Tiehui, managing director of Join Win (Bangladesh) Company, signed an agreement in this regard where Major General Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman, Bepza executive chairman, was also present.
Join Win has been running its business for 30 years and it runs six factories in different countries.
