Dhaka, Chattogram stocks trade flat
The Dhaka and Chattogram bourses traded almost flat today.
The DSEX, the benchmark index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), edged down 0.56 points to close at 6,365.
The DS30, the blue-chip index, slid 0.15 per cent to 2,196 while the DSES, the Shariah-compliant index, inched down 0.15 per cent to 1,383.
However, turnover, a key indicator of the market, increased 7.9 per cent to Tk 947 crore.
Of the securities, 86 advanced, 99 declined and 483 did not show any price movement.
Green Delta Insurance made the highest gain with an increase of 9.9 per cent.
Reliance Insurance, Crystal Insurance Company, Legacy Footwear, and Continental Insurance were among the top gainers.
Midland Bank was the highest loser, shedding 9.4 per cent.Fu-wang Foods Ltd, Khulna Printing & Packaging, Western Marine Shipyard, and Olympic Accessories were also on the list of significant losers.
Fu-wang Foods was the most-traded stock on the day with its issues worth Tk 45 crore changing hands.
Rangpur Dairy & Food Products, Yeakin Polymer, City General Insurance, and LafargeHolcim Bangladesh also registered significant turnover as well.
Caspi, the all-share price index of the Chittagong Stock Exchange, slipped 1 point to close at 18,778.
Of the issues, 66 rose, 68 retreated and 80 did not see any price swing.
However, turnover of the port city bourse surged 83 per cent to Tk 19.28 crore.
