Flights to Dubai, Sharjah, Doha, Muscat called off from Chattogram
Several international flights to and from the Middle East at Chattogram Shah Amanat International Airport were cancelled today after most airfields and Flight Information Regions in the Middle East were declared closed following the war involving Iran, the US, and Israel.
In a press release, the airport authority said the closures in the Middle East prompted multiple airlines to cancel scheduled services to and from the port city.
Among the cancelled outbound flights were Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight BG-147 on the Dhaka-Chattogram-Dubai route, which was scheduled to depart Chattogram at 6:35pm (local time), and Biman flight BG-151 on the Dhaka-Chattogram-Sharjah route, scheduled to depart at 7:30pm.
US-Bangla Airlines flight BS-333 on the Dhaka-Chattogram-Doha route was also cancelled. The flight was scheduled to depart Chattogram at 5:25pm.
Of the inbound flights, Air Arabia flight G9-520 from Sharjah to Chattogram was cancelled. It was scheduled to depart Sharjah at 3:20pm (local time).
US-Bangla Airlines flight BS-344 from Dubai to Chattogram was also called off, which was scheduled to take off from Dubai at 3:10pm (local time).
In addition, SalamAir flight OV-403 from Muscat to Chattogram was cancelled. The flight was scheduled to depart Muscat at 5:40pm (local time).
The airport authority said Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight BG-122 on the Muscat-Chattogram-Dhaka route, however, successfully departed Muscat for Chattogram at 5:00pm (local time).
It added that the airlines were working to keep the associated domestic flights in operation.
