Watch Mushfiqur’s missed stumping
By
Star Online Report
Bangladesh wicketkeeper and captain Mushfiqur Rahim made a mess of a stumping chance and reprieved Wriddhiman Saha during the second day of the Test match against India at Hyderabad today.
Saha was batting on four when the incident occurred in the 118 th over. Indian wicketkeeper was down the track early to Taijul Islam and failed to make contact with the ball. What should have been a straight-forward stumping, Mushfiqur didn’t touch the stumps to dislodge the bail in his first attempt.
When Mushfiqur realised his error, he went for the second attempt but by that time the batsman had reached his crease. Saha went on to score an unbeaten 106 when India declared their first innings at 687 for 6 after 166 overs.
