Tax-free dividend ceiling to rise to Tk 50,000

Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal proposed to rise tax-free dividend income to TK 50,000 which is now Tk 25,000.

With the proposal, the stock investors will not need to pay any tax up-to their dividend income of Tk 50,000.

The minister said he want to enhance the limit with a view to incentivising the small investors and strengthening the capital market.

However, this exemption will only be applicable for the individual taxpayers.
