Challenging roles give me added drive: Swagata
Showbiz has attracted Swagata since she was a child. What started as a hobby has flowered into a passion and today she is a popular name in the arena with an interest in acting, singing, anchoring and modeling. The Daily Star recently caught up with the artiste on the lighter side of life:
What is family life like?
Swagata: It's fine. We are happy together. I'm busy with my shooting schedule and husband who is a cinematographer keeps busy too.
Have your priorities changed now that you are married?
Swagata: Definitely. Earlier, I had to think about only one family, but now I have two families. My responsibility has doubled.
How do you spend your time with your husband?
Swagata: Both of us have very tight schedules; whenever we get time we go for outings. We went to the Jazz & Blues Festival together, and had an amazing launch journey to Chandpur. We also enjoy watching movies with friends occasionally.
What was the last film you watched at a cinema hall?
Swagata: “Runout” at Blockbuster Cinemas. We enjoyed it a lot.
You have ventured into acting, singing, anchoring and modeling, how do you juggle these roles?
Swagata: As my acting career is in flow, there is a fixed schedule. I used to emcee programmes, but now I'm singing and modeling occasionally.
You are not seen in films these days, why so?
Swagata: My last project was “Oshanta Mon” directed by Kazi Hayat. Now I'm busy with TV plays.
What kind of characters are you most attracted to in your TV plays?
Swagata: I love playing different characters. Apart from this, if the work is challenging, I feel an added drive. I also want to do the kind of work people will remember.
