Shahidul Alam to receive Humanitarian Award

Eminent photographer and activist Shahidul Alam, the founder of Drik and Pathshala South Asian Media Institute, will receive the distinguished Humanitarian Award to be distributed by The Lucie Awards, which is presented by the Lucie Foundation. The mission of Lucie Foundation is to honour the masters of photography, discover and cultivate emerging talent, and promote an appreciation of photography worldwide. He will be receiving the award for his social work and notable contributions to the world of photography. This year's Lucie Awards ceremony will take place on October 28 at Carnegie Hall's Zankel Hall, in New York City.
