Preema promoting peace and humanity in Euro train
Nazia Andaleeb Preema, a prolific visual artist of Bangladesh, recently participated in the first of its kind International Action Painting Symposium in Chalkida, Greece, organised by UNESCO. “The purpose of this symposium was to establish humanity and peace in today's world,” says Preema, who started her travel performance (train project) week from July 9. The travel performance will end on July 16.
During the recent Symposium in June, her 'Chaos & Scream' live art performance at Chalkida grabbed enormous attention from the art enthusiasts and connoisseurs. Preema will be representing Bangladesh in Euro train, in Budapest, Prague and Krakow. She will also travel to other European countries. Alongside the international performances, Preema is going to create a context engaging the environment by performing at different spaces like museums, gardens and institutes in the above mentioned cities.
Preema's performances will be telecast live on social media. She also received an honorary award from the host organisation in Greece for her unique live art performance.
Preema is one of the very few artists in Bangladesh who has incorporated new media such as performance, video installation and digital art in the Bangladesh art scene since 2003. Her creations span over genres, ranging from traditional to digital and her pursuit to constantly test her limits makes her one of the most dynamic and skilled contemporary visual artists of today's generation in the country.
