Kaarina Kaisar no more
Popular content creator Kaarina Kaisar has passed away at a hospital in Chennai, India.
Her father and former national footballer Kaisar Hamid shared the death news through a Facebook post around 1:30am Saturday.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. “It is with great sorrow that I inform you that my beloved dear daughter Kaarina Kaisar, 31, has just passed away while receiving treatment in Chennai. If my daughter caused any mistake or hurt anyone, please forgive her,” he wrote.
Kaarina was recently flown to Chennai by air ambulance for advanced treatment after being placed on life support due to severe liver complications.
Earlier, family sources said Kaarina had been unwell for several days. What initially appeared to be a common illness later deteriorated rapidly.
After being admitted to hospital, doctors reportedly detected an infection and confirmed that she had contracted Hepatitis A.
As her condition worsened, she suffered liver failure May 8 and was subsequently placed on life support.
