65-year-old man arrested in connection with rape of woman in Khulna

Police have arrested a 65-year-old man in connection with the rape of a mentally ill woman in Khulna's Paikgacha upazila.

The accused Md Sabur Sardar hailing from Shyamnagar village of the upazila, was arrested last night, reports our local correspondent quoting police.

Quoting family members of the victim, Ejaj Shafi, officer-in-charge of Paikgacha police station said, the accused Sabur raped the mentally ill woman on February 17.

The accused Sabur surrendered before police after the victim's brother-in-law filed a case with the police station accusing him.
