Popular search engine Google today released its overview of trends in search by people across the world, and these tragedies have taken a hold on the collective spirit of the Internet as we look at the year through the eyes of Google.

The overview of the year’s biggest trends curated by Google also includes Star Wars that took over the spotlight in the Internet in December, the Rugby World Cup in September and October, and the FIFA scam which was trending since April.

Google has also released the top 10 lists of trending searches on various topics including list of people topped by Lamar Odom, "what is" questions topped by the question on what is the answer to zero divided by zero, actors with Charlie Sheen being the most searched one, actresses where Ruby Rose has the spotlight, and top trending song lyrics where Adele's "Hello" is at the peak.
