Bangladeshi youth shot dead in New York, 1 hurt
A Bangladeshi youth was reportedly shot dead and another injured near Church Avenue in Brooklyn of New York City on Friday morning.
Ariful Yakub Rony, 24, was shot inside an apartment in the Flatbush neighborhood of Brooklyn around 10:00am following a brawl, Bangla daily Prothom Alo reports quoting NY Daily News.
Rony, who received bullets in his back and leg, was pronounced dead after he was taken to Kings County Hospital Center.
Meanwhile, another Bangladeshi youth, aged around 23, sustained stab injuries during the incident. He is undergoing treatment at Maimonides Medical Center, according to the report.
The New York City police are yet to make any arrest in this connection. But the police have encouraged anyone with information of the homicide to contact the hotline—1-800-577-8477.
According to what could be known, Rony hailed from Daganbhuiyan upazila of Feni. He used to reside at an apartment at the crossing of Church Avenue and McDonald Avenue in Brooklyn.
