Two boys drown in Rangamati’s Kaptai lake

Two boys drowned in Rangamati's Kaptai Lake when they were taking a bath there this noon.

The deceased were identified as Angkan (15), son of Subedar Islam, forest conservator of the forest department (Rangamati circle); and his friend Mostak (16).

Locals informed fire service men when they saw the two boys were drowning, said Ratan Kumar Nath, assistant director of Rangamati Fire Service.

Divers of the fire service rescued Angkan and Mostak from the lake and rushed them to Rangamati General Hospital where doctors declared them dead, our local correspondent reports.

Shawkat Akbar, resident medical officer of the hospital, said that they died before they were brought to the hospital.
