GP accelerator gala celebrates 20 startups

Grameenphone (GP) hosted the gala event for its GP Accelerator initiative, 'Jelay Jelay Smart Uddyokta', in Dhaka, celebrating the achievements of 20 startups.
As per GP, the initiative, first launched back in 2015, has provided training, mentorship, and networking opportunities to over 5,200 young entrepreneurs. The gala event also recognised 30 community builders who contributed to the initiative's success.
According to GP, the programme focused on harnessing the potential of university students and young entrepreneurs, guiding them from ideation to execution. Through 20 boot camps conducted across different regions, participants received support in skill development, and funding opportunities.
During the gala event, Major General (Retd.) Md Emdad ul Bari, Chairman of the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC), praised Grameenphone's efforts in promoting youth entrepreneurship, emphasising the role of young innovators in driving the country's economic growth.
Tanveer Mohammad, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer (CCAO) of Grameenphone, said "Our vision is to contribute to the nation's economic development by equipping the next generation with the skills, resources, and opportunities they need to succeed."
