Amazon adds AI translation for Kindle authors

Amazon has recently introduced Kindle Translate, a new AI-powered service designed to help independent authors translate their books into different languages. The service, currently in beta testing with select Kindle Direct Publishing authors, converts books between English and Spanish, and from German to English.

According to Amazon, fewer than 5% of titles on its platform are available in multiple languages. The company stated the service aims to help authors reach international readers without translation costs. Translated books are automatically reviewed for accuracy before publication, with authors maintaining control over pricing and publication decisions.

Readers will see clear labels identifying Kindle Translate titles and can preview samples before purchase. Amazon says that the service is part of the company's broader effort to expand global access to Kindle content, with plans to add more languages in the future.
