Alleged Canadian hacker agrees to US extradition to face charges

Alexander "Connor" Moucka, accused of stealing vast amounts of customer data from companies using Snowflake's cloud storage services, has agreed to be extradited to the United States to face federal charges, according to a recent report by Cyberscoop.
Moucka, who was arrested in Canada on October 30, 2024 at the request of the US government, submitted a written agreement to his extradition before a judge in the US Superior Court of Justice in Kitchener on March 21. By doing so, he waived the standard 30-day waiting period required under Canadian law.
As per Cyberscoop report, Moucka used several aliases online which included Waifu, Judische, Catist, and Ellyel8.
The breaches, which reportedly affected 165 companies, included major firms such as AT&T and Ticketmaster. Moucka is facing 20 federal charges, including violations of the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act. US authorities allege that Moucka, along with co-conspirator John Binns, extorted approximately $2.5 million in ransom payments from victims.
