After a busy few months at the box office, two new Bangladeshi features — “Bachelor in Trip” and “Bandhob” — arrive in cinemas today, joining seven other recent releases competing for audience attention across the country.
The film will be released in theatres on September 26, coinciding with the Durga festival.
Mehazabien Chowdhury’s debut film “Saba” continues to shine on the international stage, recently securing third place in the Asian Cinema Competition at the prestigious Bengaluru International Film Festival. This achievement not only adds another feather to the actress’s cap but also marks a pivotal moment for Bangladeshi cinema, as the film gains recognition among top Asian productions.
The Göteborg International Film Festival, which starts on January 24, will feature "Saba" in its Voices section, a category dedicated to honouring the works of emerging filmmakers.
