Bangladesh Railway has started its biggest recruitment process in recent time as the state-run rail transport agency is running short of manpower, hampering its services seriously.

Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Railways Ministry, ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury, today said the prime minister would make the final decision about construction of a hospital in Chattogram Railway Building (CRB) area.

In the last three years, the cost of train operation by a private company per passenger has been Tk 2.43 per km while the income was 62 paisa.
