Bangladesh is set to enter a new era of digital governance with the introduction of the Personal Data Protection Ordinance 2025. The draft ordinance, which was approved by the cabinet on October 9, 2025 and awaiting gazette notification, seeks to protect individuals’ rights while ensuring that data processing by public and private entities remains transparent, fair, and accountable.
