Twenty-two more leaders and activists of BNP and Jamaat yesterday were given different jail terms in four cases filed between December 2012 and September 2018 over political violence in the capital.

BNP standing committee member Mirza Abbas and Joint Secretary General Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal were arrested in the capital’s Shahjahanpur and Kathalbagan areas last night.

Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed, Shahiduddin Chowdhury Annie, Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas and Amanullah Aman were among over 200 BNP men held by law enforcers after the Nayapaltan clash today, claimed the party.
