A mixed system gives the opposition a tangible stake in lawmaking and reduces the urge to topple governments from the streets.
Bicameralism and proportional representation are not the panacea to solve all our problems of abuse of power.
But let's remember, this victory is just the beginning—10 percent of the journey. The real challenge lies ahead. This is where we, Sri Lankans, faltered.
