BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir yesterday said the people have woken up and the Awami League government that has established “autocracy” would be washed away by the strong wave of their movement.

Activists of the BNP and its affiliated organisations faced numerous obstacles, including an undeclared transport strike and assault on their men, when they headed out to join a rally in Mymensingh yesterday.

The BNP today said that its movement on the streets has been kicked off with the movement of its student wing Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD).

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today said Awami League never used the backdoor for grabbing power, rather it always assumes state power through elections.
