The trial of the Sohel Chowdhury murder case began yesterday -- two long decades after the popular film actor was gunned down in the capital’s Banani.

A Dhaka court yesterday denied bail to Ashish Rai Choudhury, an accused in the actor Sohel Chowdhury murder case, in a narcotics case.

Rapid Action Battalion has arrested Ashish Roy Chowdhury, a fugitive for 24 years accused in a case filed over the murder of film actor Sohel Chowdhury in December 1998.
