“We offer students an unparalleled range of services”
The Daily Star (TDS): Can you provide an overview of AHZ?
Golam Mortuza (GM): AHZ is the largest UK-exclusive university representative. We provide comprehensive guidance and support at every step of an applicant's journey, ensuring a smooth transition to their desired university. AHZ started in London in 2012, and since then, we've supported more than 25,000 students to enrol in UK institutions.
Since 2012, we have always operated on a no-fee basis, meaning that the students we support can dedicate all their time and resources to funding their studies in the UK. We always seek to employ locally and support local economies and communities through the DMH Foundation. Most of our counselling team are UK graduates, and we currently have around 750 colleagues globally.
AHZ is wholly owned and operated by two international students from Bangladesh who saw an opportunity to support their fellow countrymen and women in using a UK education to not only better themselves but also to improve the communities around them. Their drive to make the world a better place continues to shine through at AHZ to this day.
TDS: How does AHZ support Bangladeshi students pursuing higher education in the UK?
GM: We support Bangladeshi students by providing a free platform to connect with UK institutions that are looking to recruit international students. AHZ does this through a number of helpful services. Arguably the most important is counselling. All our students are counselled by one of our trusted British Council-certified advisors, most of whom are UK graduates. During the counselling sessions, we provide an overview of what studying in the UK is like, the costs involved, available part-time jobs during their studies, career opportunities post-study, the weather, and, most importantly, where our students can get the best.
We have nine offices in Bangladesh and 50 more globally. We have been expanding our presence worldwide to ensure we can reach as many students as possible in an environment that best suits their needs.
TDS: How can students avail themselves of the facilities offered by the platform?
GM: The best way to get started with AHZ is to book an appointment to meet one of our counsellors, either face-to-face or online. You can do that by visiting our website, www.ahzassociates.co.uk, and filling out the contact details form. A member of our team will get back to you within 24 hours, or you can visit one of our offices.
TDS: What makes AHZ stand out compared to other similar platforms?
GM: AHZ stands out from our competitors because we offer students an unparalleled range of services; we support them with everything from applications to scholarships, and we can have offers turned around in as little as a few hours to the next day! One of the biggest benefits of working with AHZ is that we work exclusively with UK universities, meaning that our teams are not only experts in UK study but also have strong relationships with many prestigious institutions. As a result, we can offer the most up-to-date information and the quickest turnaround time possible.
We are a people-first, technology-second business. We aim to help students engage with their studies and support them throughout their entire journey.
TDS: What is AHZ's vision for the future?
GM: Our vision is to ensure that as many Bangladeshi students as possible get the opportunity to study in the UK. We want to see communities and families within Bangladesh grow and develop as a result of this incredible opportunity. We see education becoming more accessible in the coming years and want to be at the forefront of that. With entry requirements matched to Bangladeshi school and university qualifications, even more Bangladeshi students will have the chance to realise their dream of UK study.
TDS: Lastly, do you have any advice for students who are considering studying abroad?
GM: The best advice I can give is twofold. First, do your research and make sure that the institution, location, fees, and career outcomes align with where you want to be in the future. Second, act now—don't hesitate! The earlier you apply, the more likely you are to be accepted, and the sooner you can start your educational journey to the UK.
