Shakib returns as Bangladesh sent to bowl by South Africa
Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan returns to the playing XI as the Tigers have been sent to field first by South Africa in their fifth match in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai today.
Shakib had to sit out in Bangladesh's previous match in the competition against India due to a quad injury which he suffered against New Zealand in Chennai.
The all-rounder returns in action against the Proteas, which will provide a boost to the Bangladeshi side, who are trying to bounce back in the tournament after three consecutive defeats.
To make way for Shakib, out of form Towhid Hridoy was left out.
South Africa, who are fresh off a thumping 229-run win over England at the same ground on Saturday, have made one change in their XI, replacing Lungi Ngidi with Lizaad Williams.
