High Court clears BPL 12 auction to proceed without excluded players
The High Court has cleared the way for the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 12 players' auction to go ahead as scheduled today, rejecting three writ petitions that challenged the exclusion of nine cricketers from the auction list.
A division bench comprising Justice Sikder Mahmudur Razi and Justice Raziuddin Ahmed summarily dismissed the petitions vide an Order dated November 30, 2025,
The writs, filed by three players, sought directives to include the names of nine excluded cricketers -- some of whom had previously represented the national team.
The petitioners' counsel, Barrister Ruhul Quddus Kazal, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of Bangladesh, and Bangladesh Cricket Board's lawyer, Barrister Mahin M Rahman, Advocate of the Appellate Division, presented arguments before the bench, which ultimately upheld the BCB's decision.
