Chittagong King's left-arm spinner Arafat Sunny has been flagged by the umpires for suspect bowling action in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).

Sunny's action was put into question by on-field umpires Masudur Rahman Mukul and Raveendra Wimalasiri during Chittagong's final league phase match against Fortune Barishal on Saturday.

"The umpires reported him [Sunny] three days ago. The complaint has been forwarded to the bowling review committee. He will have to go for an assessment inside seven days," BPL technical committee's chairman Raqibul Hasan told The Daily Star.

However, Raqibul also informed that there is no restriction in Sunny bowling in the tournament, meaning he could feature for Chittagong King's qualifier match against the Khulna Tigers on Wednesday.

Sunny is the second spinner from the Chittagong camp this year to be flagged for a suspect action after Aliss Al Islam, who has gone through an assessment and is yet to receive the results.

Sunny, who has played 16 ODIs and 10 T20Is for Bangladesh, has faced questions over his action in the past as well. He was suspected of having an illegal bowling action during the 2016 ICC T20 World Cup and was later handed a ban. A few months later, he cleared his action and successfully overturned the ban.
