SLC calls back player from Bangladesh upon ‘breach of rules’
Sri Lanka Cricket board (SLC) has called back Kamil Mishara from Lankans' tour of Bangladesh, sighting alleged break of code of conduct, SLC said in a media release today.
According to the media release, the player, who was part of the 18-member squad for Sri Lanka's tour of Bangladesh, will be 'immediately flown back to Sri Lanka.
"Upon his return, SLC will conduct a full inquiry into the 'violations' and upon the outcome of the inquiry, further actions would be determined on the player," the SLC media release read.
The breach relates to clause number 1 (j) which is described in the media release as 'governing the player's conduct/behaviour as depicted in his tour contract'.
International news agency AFP cited an official source, who claimed that Mishara had been called in following evidence from CCTV footage that he 'entertained a visitor' in his hotel room.
"There is hotel CCTV footage that we have reviewed and we would like to interview him on what we saw," AFP quoted an official source as saying.
21-year-old Kamil is yet to make his Test debut for Sri Lanka.
