‘History there to be broken’: Bangladesh captain Litton banks on recent improvement

"We haven't yet had a taste of the championship, but that's history. History is there to be broken," said Bangladesh captain Litton Das, speaking at the Asia Cup trophy unveiling ceremony in Dubai today.
"There will be many challenges here, it won't be easy. But we'll focus on how we can improve as a team."
Bangladesh open their campaign in Abu Dhabi the day after tomorrow against Hong Kong, in a tournament that once again raises the familiar question: can the Tigers finally rewrite their history of underachievement on the big stage?
Litton struck a composed tone, playing down any sense of desperation. "There's no sense of urgency. We've played very good cricket in the recent past and had quite a long camp.
On the surface, Bangladesh carry momentum. They arrive on the back of three consecutive series wins: away in Sri Lanka, at home against Pakistan, and then over the Netherlands, but still no less burdened with a history of falling short in ICC tournaments.
"I think we're well prepared for the Asia Cup. All the teams are strong and it will be challenging, but we're eager to take that challenge and give our hundred percent."
