Tanvir replaces Chapal in archery committee

The National Sports Council (NSC) changed its circular of Bangladesh Archery Federation's ad-hoc committee by naming Tanvir Ahmed as the general secretary in place of long-serving Kazi Rajib Uddin Ahmed Chapal.
Chapal has been made No. 1 member in the 19-member ad-hoc committee, which was revised on Thursday. Soon after the declaration of the ad-hoc committee by the NSC, the Search Committee, responsible for recommending the names of the ad-hoc committees, made objections to the archery's committee's circular, which retained founding general secretary Chapal, who had been at the helm for over 20 years.
The circular mentioned that Tanvir is an international archery judge, former archer, businessman, organiser and patron. Alamgir Kabir was named as the joint secretary.
Dr Md Mokhles Ur Rahman, senior secretary of the ministry of public administration, has been named president of the federation while Brigadier Geneal (rtd) Tushar Kanti Chakma and Square Totalities CEO Malik Mohammad Sayeed have been named as vice-presidents of the federation.
The NSC today formed two more ad-hoc committees – Bangladesh Boxing Federation and Bangladesh Ushu Federation, by dissolving the current committees.
Former general secretary MA Kuddus Khan was named general secretary in 19-member committee of Boxing federation while former general secretary Dildar Hossain Dilu was named general secretary in 19-member ad-hoc committee of Ushu federation.
With the announcement of two more ad-hoc committee, the number of ad-hoc committees now stands at 26.
